Anlässlich des Internationalen Frauentages und des Tages der politischen Gefangenen im März, aber auch des 2. Jahrestages der brutalen Ermordung von Farkhunda Malikzada durch einen Mob in Kabul, zeigen wir die Dokumentation “The Love Crimes of Kabul” über das afghanische Frauengefängnis Badam Bagh. Der trotz des etwas reisserischen Titels sehr ruhige Film gibt Frauen, die aufgrund sogenannter moralischer Vergehen wie vorehelicher Beziehungen und dem Weglaufen vor gewaltätigen Ehemännern im Gefängnis sind, den Raum, über ihre Situation zu sprechen. Mit viel Selbstbewußtsein machen sie klar, wie sehr ihr Verständnis ihrer Rechte von der Gesetzeslage abweicht.
Anschließend: Diskussion und Infos zu aktuellen Frauenrechtskämpfen in Afghanistan mit einer Aktivistin.
Der Tresen ist ab 19.30 Uhr offen, wie immer mit veganen Schnittchen und Knabbereien.

On the occasion of the International Women’s Day and the upcoming Day of Political Prisoners, but also the second anniversary of the brutal murder of Farkhunda Malikzada by a mob in Kabul, we will show the documentary “The Love Crimes of Kabul” about the Afghan Women’s Prison Badam Bagh. Inspite the sensationalist title, it is a rather quiet film that gives room to women imprisoned for so-called moral offences, like premarital relationships and escaping from abusive marriages, room to speak about their situation. The self-confident women express, how far their own understanding of the rights they should have as women is from the legal reality of Afghanistan.
After the film we will be joined by an activist for a discussion and more information on the current struggle for women’s rights in Afghanistan
